Thank you, Musa, Kingsley, Mary, & others who sent pictures. Some of the younger attendees Mary A heavenly view Small groups looked at a portion each of Matthew 8&9. It was part of Lesson #5. We did a fly-over of Matthew 5-10, looking at how Jesus interacted with those He was training to lead, so that we could learn. I was very impressed with the 4 groups' observations. Thank you, so much to the ZBA for this kind gift. For the attendees' attention, participation, and praise time that began each session. I slept well in the guest room. I enjoyed the food. It was a great experience.

Message #7, I Am Here to Lead in Spite of no, Because of my Weaknesses:

Message #7, I Am Here to Lead in Spite of  no, Because of my Weaknesses:   I have a friend who is a Calvinist. I am too, at least I think I am. My friend and I share a belief in God’s sovereignty. My friend though is what I call a “squirrelly Calvinist.” You’d might use a comparison to a different animal, here, in Zambia. I call my friend squirrelly because squirrels always seem to be twitching and scurrying around. They never seem to be relaxed. I figure if you are going to be a Calvinist, you might as well enjoy it. Relax. 😊 I was on an airplane for most of a day getting here. When you are flying there really isn’t much you can do to affect the out come of the flight. If the maintenance people and the pilots do their jobs well, everything will probably be good. If not, then, not good. Either way it’s out of my hands. I try to trust the Lord’s control. I think, though, that we all suffer a bit with my friend’s squirrelliness, don’t we? And, I think, it is in the area of how each of

I hope that by this time you have noticed that these documents are rough. They are little more than copies of the notes from which I am speaking at the ZBA conference.  They are here for the use of conference participants. Please do not share them without participation. Just write me at hmerrell@liebenzellusa.org. Message #5, I Am Here to Follow So That I Can Lead Written two weeks ago in SC: “I figure at this time, at the end of a long day of sessions, the theme of this conference takes on new meaning. “Why Am I Here?” 😊 I brought my airplane hat. In this session we are going to fly over a section of scripture to observe some principles from the life of Christ that are essential for us to understand if we are going to grow in the area of leadership. In particular we are going to look at the dynamic between the leader and the follower, but not just any follower. We are going to look at the follower who is on his way to becoming a leader. Some of you are leaders.  • You have a respo

Message #6, I am here so that I can lead at time of crisis.

Message #6 , I am here so that I can lead at time of crisis. Nehemiah was leading in a difficult time. If there is no change, no new needs, no difficulties among staff, workers, or volunteers, no new needs we need to meet, or no new workers to train, we don’t really need leaders. Who Moved my Cheese? Interesting little book. It is not Biblical, but it is worth thinking about. There are several summaries of the tale, online, including some in video form. I’ll let you do your own searching. If you find a good option, let us know about it in the comments. Here is one website that lists some take-aways from the little book. https://www.ricklindquist.com/notes/who-moved-my-cheese Change will happen. Leaders are truly needed in times of stress and change—crisis. Here are some examples of crisis leaders: ·        Winston Churchill, ·        Abraham Lincoln, ·        Nelson Mandela.   It is really hard to prepare to deal with a crisis in the midst of one. Try to prep
